The Domestic Violence Treatment Program provides individual and group therapy for survivors and perpetrators of domestic violence and their children. Our therapists are trained in a variety of techniques to combine trauma-focused care and quality mental health services to create a healing environment. With the goal to teach skills to help individuals set appropriate boundaries and to recognize abuse in relationships. We educate our clients on how to keep themselves and their family safe and healthy.
The program is for all individuals in the Salt Lake County region including children and adults from low-income families who have either witnessed or experienced domestic abuse within the home. Many do not have the resources to pay for treatment. We accept Medicaid and can provide assistance for those affected by domestic violence.
VOA offers group psychotherapy, child play therapy, couples, marriage, and family therapy. Individual Therapy Sessions for men, women, as well as child-witnesses are also available which provides a safe place to discuss and process domestic violence, sexual assault, or other traumas in an individual counseling environment.
Free Childcare is provided onsite between 10:30 am and 6:00 pm. Download a PDF of our Domestic Violence Services brochure to see a full list of our group therapy sessions that are available.
