Cornerstone Counseling Center provides counseling, therapy and support to families impacted by addiction to drugs, and/or involved with domestic violence. The purpose of Cornerstone Counseling Center is to reduce substance abuse and domestic violence and to facilitate lifelong improvements in the well being of individuals and families, thereby building a safer community.  Cornerstone Counseling Center was established in 1968 as one of the earliest substance abuse treatment centers in Utah, and has been a leader in focusing treatment on all family members, not just the abuser or the victims.  In addition Cornerstone Counseling Center is committed to reaching families who would otherwise not be able to afford treatment.  Many of these families face barriers to treatment that include limited access to transportation, lack of support from extended family (especially in the care of young children), parents who are facing legal issues related to their substance abuse, and a history of financial trouble.  Currently, twenty-nine professionally trained therapists provide treatment to more than 1,800 individual adults, adolescents, and children annually.  In FY 2006 our five prevention programs (staffed by six prevention specialists) served 4,020 at risk youth.
