Cornerstone Counseling Center merges with Volunteers of America, Utah

Volunteers of America, Utah is pleased to announce that Cornerstone Counseling Center has joined with them as a wholly owned subsidiary.  In 2007 Volunteers of America, Utah helped more than 4000 individuals with its existing programs, which include: Homeless Outreach, Detoxification Services, Homeless Youth Services, Substance Abuse Treatment Services, Housing case management and Senior Volunteer opportunities.  The addition of Cornerstone Counseling Center programs and services expands Volunteers of America, Utah’s reach to thousands more individuals in need.

The merger with Cornerstone Counseling Center will add Prevention Services, Domestic Violence Treatment, Youth Substance Abuse Treatment, a variety of Adult Substance Abuse Treatment options, as well as a unique Children’s Care Center.  This combination of services allows the agency to serve key areas of need in the community and creates a more collaborative environment to better serve those in need.

Volunteers of America is a national non-profit, spiritually based organization that nurtures, supports and uplifts the human spirit and empowers the people we serve to reach their full potential.  We provide local human service programs and opportunities for individual and community involvement.

  • Volunteers of America, Utah operates programs in the areas of homeless outreach, substance abuse detoxification and treatment, housing case management and senior services. We measure success in positive change in the lives of individuals and communities we serve.
  • The involvement of volunteers, donors, religious organizations, social groups, the media, and civic organizations is crucial to the success of the organization.

The goal of Volunteers of America, Utah is to provide a continuum of services for individuals in need, to foster self-sufficiency and to provide opportunities for volunteer involvement.
